This award is designed as an incentive for travel students to reach greater standards of excellence. Those nominated by their teachers for demonstrating outstanding qualities will be in the running for some amazing prizes, which will assist their career and offer insight into how the industry really works, through site inspections, industry networking and overseas travel.

Where Can I Study Galileo?
Accredited Galileo training is offered at many leading training institutes across Australia and New Zealand, and generally serves as a mandatory component of Certificate and Diploma courses in Travel and Tourism.

Travelport End-to-End Training Package for Colleges
In 2008, Travelport repackaged its college training package for Australian colleges in line with the new national standard (SIT07). We are currently working closely with the ATTTO (New Zealand) to ensure our package meets the new competencies for New Zealand delivery.

The Travelport end-to-end package includes the following components (click on product names for more details):
- Galileo eLearning, a Web-based learning management system, features a self-paced, modular curriculum. Galileo eLearning provides engaging interactive learning, practice and feedback. This robust and flexible learning resource provides a well-supported curriculum structure for Galileo GDS training.
- Galileo Desktop 2.1, our latest GDS access software, which provides travel agents with access to air, hotel and car travel content available in the Galileo GDS. Launched to the Australian market in October 2008, Desktop 2.1 gives agents the option of using Focalpoint™ - the traditional Galileo “cryptic” format interface and Viewpoint® - a graphical user interface booking tool to search and book the best available options for their customers.
- CrossCheck Travel Enterprise is our latest version of market-leading mid/back-office solution, providing travel accounting and client process management capabilities. CCT Enterprise integrates seamlessly with Galileo Desktop and therefore allows educators to demonstrate end-to-end travel agency processes.

The Instructor Accreditation Programme address the skill shortage and ensures that the travel industry’s valued educators are skilled in the latest technology and industry practices. Travelport has designed this full-service Instructor Accreditation Programme to demonstrate our commitment to the tourism education sector. Over 100 educators are members of our innovative Learning Community and more than 60 have attended dedicated workshops.
