Singapore Country Management

As Country Manager for Travelport GDS Singapore, Serene Chee oversees a dynamic team in a challenging market. She has held this position, earlier with Galileo, for the past 12 years. Serene started her career in the travel industry in 1975, working for Singapore Airport Terminal Services and later as Airline Representative for TAROM Romanian Airlines. As her experience grew, she moved to a management role in reservations and in 1987 joined United Airlines/Covia. Serene joined Galileo in 1995 and was quickly promoted to Country Manager due to her outstanding leadership qualities and industry knowledge.
 

Director Airline Services

In her role as Director Airline Services for Travelport GDS, Chau Hui Wan is responsible for airline relationships in Asia with a key focus on retaining and increasing airline content available through Travelport’s global distribution systems (GDS). Prior to joining Travelport, Chau gained 11 years of pertinent experience in travel distribution through her tenure with Abacus. At Abacus, she was responsible for managing business development initiatives for both airlines and travel agency subscribers, including sales and marketing support for customers in six countries in the Southwest Asia and Indo China regions. She was also responsible for managing Abacus distributorship relationships, and additional roles included oversight of various product lines, including net fare distribution, group management and electronic ticketing implementation. Chau joined Travelport in 2005 and is based in Singapore.


Regional Director, Hospitality and Car Rental, Asia and Pacific

In his role as Regional Director for hotel and car services for Travelport GDS, Joe Lim’s main focus and responsibilities are to develop and implement plans to drive demand and supply in this important sector through the Galileo and Worldspan global distribution systems (GDS). Joe’s extensive experience and expertise with three of the world’s largest GDS hotel systems allow him to specialise in advising and assisting non-air travel supplier partners in hotel and car rental functionalities, negotiated rate processes and optimisation of marketing opportunities, thereby driving increased returns and higher revenues for participating suppliers through Travelport’s GDS, online and corporate distribution channels. In addition to serving hotel chains and car rental companies in the Asia Pacific region, Joe also trains Travelport staff on GDS non-air systems and provides in-depth understanding of the hotel and car rental industries.

Joe has spent 26 years in the travel industry, including 18 within the GDS arena. He started his career as a travel agent in corporate sales. When he first entered the GDS industry, he served as a product analyst in the airline/BSP area before finding his passion in the non-air sector.
