Travelport offers Finance internship opportunities in various areas of the business, including Financial Operations, European Finance, Management Reporting, Global Planning and Hospitality. Your daily tasks may vary according to the department you are working in. Typically, Finance interns are responsible for conducting a wide range of analysis, reporting, statistics and commentary. This may involve comparing company performance on a monthly basis against prior month, budget or forecast, then investigating and commenting on any variances. You may also be tasked with preparing financial reports and information packs for management teams and other senior members of the organization.
Applications for admission in 2017 has been closed.
Human resource internships
As a Human resources (HR) intern, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself within our various departmental areas, including Recruitment, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Admin and Reporting. You will play a vital role in every stage of the recruitment process for the following intake of interns, including advertising, conducting telephone interviews and organizing and facilitating assessment centers. Other responsibilities will include managing the content of the HR pages on the company intranet and dealing with the payment of contractors. Other projects that you will work on will depend upon the business requirements at the time - past interns have had the opportunity to assist in the creation of staff training sessions and assess whether sales colleagues have achieved their targets.
Our marketing interns will play a valuable support role to Travelport’s Global Marketing Communications team, assisting on worldwide projects and initiatives for various customer channels. Working closely with the Global Marketing Managers, you will assist in executing our various marketing campaigns through the development of print and digital media, electronic direct mail, customer case studies, e-newsletters and other marketing materials. The role will also involve event and exhibition co-ordination, as well as working directly with our marketing agencies and key stakeholders across the organization.
Data analytics internships
Working as part of the Sales Strategy and Operations team, the successful candidates will play a vital role in researching and analyzing raw data in order to identify key performance trends. One of your main tasks will involve reporting on individual airline performance, with a focus on elements such as number of bookings, country of sale, route popularity and whether bookings were made through Travelport systems or those of our competitors. You will also have the opportunity to analyze and report on commercial agreements, company products and profitability, then make recommendations based on your findings.
Digital marketing internships
Our digital marketing interns will be involved with supporting the digital marketing team across a number of different disciplines. According to the area you are working in, your role may involve conducting a wide range of market research, analysis, and reporting; assisting with improving our Hospitality digital media product customer experience; supporting the Global sales team with marketing activities; or identifying future business prospects through market research.
As a Strategy Intern you will be involved with a number of projects that require data analysis and insight to help identify opportunities for investment. You will be required to carry out market research, statistical analysis and project reviews to help improve the strategic direction of the firm. Other responsibilities include creating and building presentations in preparation of key management meetings where your ideas will be discussed. Strategy Interns will need to demonstrate strong strategic ability to execute new plans that will drive growth and challenge the status quo.
"The working environment is very welcoming with experienced colleagues always willing to spare their time in order to help personal development whether it involves furthering business knowledge or future career advice."Andy, UK intern
