ATLANTA, December 17, 2018: Travelport (NYSE: TVPT), a leading Travel Commerce Platform, announced today an extended partnership with Hopper, one of the world’s largest mobile travel agencies. Travelport has been a key partner for Hopper since 2013, providing accessible travel content to the rapidly-growing predictive fare app. The new deal enables Hopper to continue leveraging Travelport’s global footprint as the app looks to expand internationally.
“We’re excited to continue our relationship with Travelport, who shares our mission to deliver an effortless, personalized mobile booking experience for travelers,” said Frederic Lalonde, Hopper’s founder and CEO. “Our longstanding alliance with Travelport offers us tremendous value as we look to expand and support travelers worldwide.”
According to Travelport’s 2018 Digital Traveler Survey, 50% of U.S. travelers and 51% of Canadian travelers identified the time spent trying to find the best price as a top pain point for searching and booking leisure trips. Further, more than half of U.S. and Canadian leisure travelers surveyed consider the ability to search and book flights a highly important feature for their favorite travel apps.
Hopper saves users time, money, and anxiety in their quest to book the perfect trip by offering travelers recommendations and alerts based on highly accurate pricing predictions. The innovative app accesses bookable travel options using Travelport’s next-generation APIs, then uses powerful machine learning to uncover price drops and exclusive deals for a personalized search and booking experience on mobile devices.
“As a key partner for Hopper during its early stages, we’re thrilled to continue our alliance and support Hopper’s future growth leveraging Travelport’s technology and global footprint,” said Chris Zando, Vice President Partnerships and Business Development at Travelport. “This new deal exemplifies our commitment to enable early stage companies to propel new and innovative business models within global travel.”
Hopper is currently on-track to process over $1 billion in sales this year, according to recent reports from the company.
