18 AUGUST, 2026 – DataArt, a global data and AI transformation partner delivering tech-enabled business outcomes for enterprises, today announced the successful completion of a six-month GDS modernization project for an enterprise travel agency, modernizing its distribution infrastructure with Travelport while maintaining uninterrupted booking and servicing operations and creating a scalable foundation for future NDC adoption.

Because the migration involved live booking, ticketing, and servicing systems, the customer had to meet a fixed implementation deadline without disrupting day-to-day operations for agents or travelers. DataArt designed and implemented the solution from planning through production, using phased production deployments and a structured delivery approach that minimized operational risk while keeping the business running throughout the transition.

Travel distribution platforms are business-critical systems, so modernization has to happen without disrupting day-to-day operations. This project required close collaboration, deep travel expertise, and a delivery approach that kept the business running while laying the foundation for future growth.

Apurva Mathur | Vice President of Strategic Accounts at DataArt.

As travel companies modernize their technology stacks to support new distribution models and growing volumes of multi-source airline content, modernizing GDS infrastructure has become increasingly important for maintaining operational flexibility and delivering competitive airline content. Following the initial migration, DataArt worked closely with Travelport to optimize the platform, improving NDC content visibility and fare competitiveness.

Plenty of partners can hit a deadline. Fewer can do it without the agency feeling any disruption, and fewer still stay involved once the harder problem shows up afterward, in this case, making sure customers were actually seeing the best content available to them. DataArt did both, and that's the difference between a project that's finished and a partnership that keeps paying off.

Jason Toothman | Chief Strategic Accounts Officer at Travelport.

The project reflects DataArt's broader work helping travel organizations modernize complex distribution platforms through its AI-enabled software delivery model, combining deep travel expertise with long-term collaboration to support more resilient, scalable operations.
