
LONDON, UK, March 30, 2026 - ITA Airways, Italy's leading airline, has announced the signing of a new long-term agreement with Travelport, a global technology company that manages bookings for hundreds of thousands of travel service providers worldwide, to enable the future distribution of New Distribution Capability (NDC) content.
ITA Airways has embarked on the path of NDC technology to offer increasingly advanced customer experience and to more comprehensively control its retailing. Travelport's technology is essential to enable ITA Airways to deliver the best to the agency community and its customers by adopting Lufthansa Group's distribution approach.
Once this innovation is implemented, LHG NDC member agencies using Travelport+ will gain simplified access to ITA Airways' NDC offerings, including ancillary services. Travelport's NDC solution will allow BSP/ARC travel agencies - with ticketing authority from ITA Airways - to seamlessly make and manage NDC bookings with the Company.

Travelport's end-to-end NDC solutions are designed to enable modern retail experiences, so agents and travelers can easily understand and compare deals, book the best options, and manage NDC bookings with partners. Additionally, Travelport's AI-powered Content Curation Layer (CCL) and Content Optimizer capabilities enhance the search process in Travelport+ by quickly and easily returning intelligent, relevant, personalized, and enriched NDC and non-NDC content.
