What information does Travelport collect?
Travelport may collect personal information such as your:
- date of birth;
- postal address;
- e-mail address;
- telephone number;
- credit card and payment information;
- travel and accommodation details;
- passport information; and
- special travel requests, such as a request for a wheelchair or a special meal.
What does Travelport do with the information?
We use the personal information we collect to help create and perform the underlying contracts between you and travel providers and travel agencies. We may also use personal information for our legitimate business interests. More specifically:
- to process travel bookings;
- to provide travel agencies, management companies and suppliers with access to travel information;
- to make and change travel reservations;
- to perform billing and accounting functions related to the travel;
- to perform internal business processes (such as testing, quality assurance, and product development and enhancement);
- to conduct scientific, statistical, and research activities regarding travel trends;
- to issue travel-related documents on behalf of travelers;
- to provide help-desk services;
- to send notices, such as communications about products and services and changes to our terms, conditions and policies; and
- to administer sweepstakes or promotions you may enter.
To the extent sensitive personal data (e.g. health or religious data) are processed based on explicit consent, such consent can be withdrawn by the traveler at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on such consent before its withdrawal.
How does Travelport collect information?
We collect information interactively, when we request it from you and when you provide it to us voluntarily. We may also collect information automatically, recording information based on your use of Travelport products and services. On some websites, Travelport may deploy Google Analytics. How long does Travelport hold the information?
Travelport retains personal information no longer than is necessary to comply with legal obligations and to fulfill the purposes of processing.
Where does Travelport collect and process information?
Travelport’s primary data center is in the United States of America; however, given the global nature of the Internet as well as our products and services, processing may occur elsewhere in the world. We recognize that the European Union (EU) and Switzerland have data protection laws that restrict the transfer of certain personal information, unless there is “adequate protection” for such information when it is received in the jurisdiction where the information is received.
To address this restriction as applicable to personal information processed within the United States and by our primary vendors outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), Travelport has implemented the European Commission’s model contracts. For other products and services, any transfers outside the EEA or Switzerland will be done for the purposes of performing or implementing products or services that you request.
With whom does Travelport share information?
Travelport may disclose some or all your personal information to business partners, including affiliates, service providers, travel agencies, management companies, and travel suppliers, as well as the processors that act on their behalf.
From time to time, you may be offered the opportunity to receive materials or special offers from third parties. Travelport may share your personal information with such third parties for purposes of identifying such opportunities.
How can you control the usage of information?
Subject access requests:
European data privacy laws grant individuals subject to those laws (“European Residents”) certain rights with respect to the:
- portability; and
- restriction or objection to processing of their own personal information.

Once we receive your inquiry we will investigate the matter and respond to you promptly. We will endeavor to do this within 30 days. If this is not possible, we will contact you and let you know about a revised timeframe.
Travelport retains the right to use reasonable measures to authenticate the identity of any individual who requests access to their personal information or otherwise raises any questions.
If any European Resident experiences an issue regarding personal information that the European Resident cannot resolve directly with Travelport, such traveler has a right to lodge a complaint with the governing Data Protection Authority.
Information from minors
Travelport products and services are not intended for use by minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from any minor child.
